Our Ethics

In 2011, Turning Point Integration and London Graphic Systems plan to make a greater effort to become a greener and more ethical company. We realise that our actions have an impact on the environment and we are dedicated to being a responsible company. Whether we are working with staff, clients, suppliers or partners we are committed to acting responsibly.

We're carbon neutral...

What does it mean?
For a company to be carbon neutral it needs to reach zero net carbon emissions. Annually, Turning Point Integration and London Graphic Systems emits about 83 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere – our carbon footprint. The largest contributions to this total come from the electricity we use and transportation of our engineers and equipment. There are two ways in which we can bring this total down:

  1. Reduce our carbon footprint: There are many technologies out there that can help us to reduce this total. We have already cut this figure by switching to a green electricity supplier. Our energy supplier has pledged to generate the equivalent amount of energy that we use in hydro-electricity.
  2. Offsetting: As a company we will always emit some carbon emissions. The recommended way of compensating for these is to invest in offset projects that make an equivalent carbon saving.

At Turning Point Integration and London Graphic Systems, our strategy is to take measures to further reduce our carbon footprint combined with a progressive offsetting strategy. The more emissions we cut in future, the less carbon we have to offset to reach carbon neutral status.

Investing in projects to save carbon
This year, in partnership with CarbonClear we have purchased credits in carbon reduction projects around the world to offset 83 tonnes of CO2. Our investment will help to deliver schemes where the aim is to reduce greenhouse gases.

Mayor's Green Procurement Code

We are proud to be a Bronze level member of the Mayors Green Procurement Code and is making continual efforts to make further improvements.

What does this mean?
We are working to reduce our impact on the environment through responsible purchasing, and helping our organisation become more resource efficient.

What is the GPC?
The Mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code is a support service for organisations committed to reducing their environmental impact through responsible purchasing.

The Green Procurement Code provides practical advice and support to introduce green purchasing into all aspects of an organisation, including sourcing green products.

Since its launch in 2001, members have spent £548.7 million on recycled products, diverted 1.8 million tonnes of waste from landfill and saved 391,000 tonnes of C02 emissions.

The programme is supported by the London Development Agency and delivered by LRS Consultancy.
